DC is an unbeatable city in terms of providing a social life for
students. There are countless bars in Adams Morgan and Georgetown and
downtown, and the city is actually fairly youthful (lots of colleges
and your average nubile young DC interns that cause so much trouble for
so many politicians). There are hundreds of restaurants covering almost
as many ethnic cuisines to choose from, and if DC doesn't suit your
tastes, New York is a relatively cheap and very short Delta shuttle or
bus ride away. These costs can add up quickly, however--DC is not by
any stretch of the imagination a cheap city--but DC provides countless
cost-free entertainments as well.
