GW is in a great neighborhood - Foggy Bottom. Close to a subway
station, lots of restaurants. Good security. It's an open "city"
campus and old apartment buildings and houses have been bought by the
University and refurbished for student housing. Housing is done by
lottery for Sophmore-Seniors. With of course seniors getting the most
desirable spaces. Food is decent - food court type dining using your
meal plan. Of course crime happens everywhere, but DC used to be the
crime capital of the country, so not surprising. Just be smart when
you're out. The campus is patrolled regurarly by the University police,
DC police, and Secret Service (The White House is 7 blocks away).
