Although George Mason University May not yet be as recognized as Harvard or Yale
or its sister school University of Virginia, GMU is well known in the Northern
VA- DC Metro Area. The nations top strategy consulting firms, Financial Firms and
High tech firms all know GMU and the quality and diversity of students and their
education that come from George Mason University. The Nations Federal Government
Agencies also recruit the 'Best' from George Mason. The FBI & CIA, General
Accounting Office, Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Defense, and
numerous Think Tanks and Government Contract Agencies avail themselves to George
Mason Graduates. Internship opportunities are numerous but competative. George
Mason Students have an advantage in Internship since they can intern with a
nearby Firm or Agency during the whole school year not only during the summer
season. The career center counselors are knowledgeable and helpful when finding
resources and companies that match a students particular needs- however- more
work is needed on the students part to find the jobs and to contact the firms.
