Overall - The admission process is very easy and straight forward. As
long as you meet the minimum requirment, your chance of getting in is
big. You do have to write an essay to submit with the application, but
there is no interview required. George Mason has a very close
relationship with Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA). That
said, if for some reason, your qualifications don't meet Mason's minimun
requirements, whether is SAT, TOFEL, or GPA, you can also try to get
into NOVA and take some 100 and 200 level courses. As long as you do
well at NOVA(around GPA of 3.5 or above), your chance of getting into
Mason is very high. Make sure that you do well at NOVA though. You
really have no chance of getting into Mason if you did poorly at NOVA.
School of Management - getting admitted to Mason doesn't mean that
you're admitted to the School of Management (SOM). In order to be
admitted to SOM, you have to have a GPA of at least 2.5 for the
following courses : Financial acctg, Managerial accounting, Statistical
analysis for Mgmt, Intro to Computer based mgmt info system, Financial
mgmt, Decision model in business operation mgmt, Organizational
behavior, and Marketing. If you don't get at least 2.5 GPA for these
courses, there is no way you can get into SOM. Your alternative would
be B.A. - Economics, which is not one of SOM's programs.
