Because of Dartmouth's location, social options are pretty limited.
However, the college, recognizing this and trying to steer kids away from
the rampant greek life, takes great pains to bring up concerts, artists
and have alternative social scenes. I think they did a great job.
However, you will have to use your imagination to figure out what to do
most Sat nights if you don't want to go to the frats. The small campus
is a great way to meet a wide variety of people however, so if you "step
outside your comfort zone" (a perrenial dartmouth phrase) you can really
open your eyes to a wide variety of social scenes and spaces.
