The social life has always been slightly misrepresented at Dartmouth. True there
are not
bars or off-campus scene -- so parties, and, more specifically alcoholic parties
-- tend to
focus on the fraternity and sorority system. Though I never joined a frat (and
never even
considered it -- thank God!), they do serve as a good outlet to let out some
steam from a
long week's work. Still, if this isn't for you, there really is something for
everyone --
especially if you are into movies. Dartmouth has one of the premiere collegiate
film
societies and it shows different films four times a week (Saturday, Sunday,
Wednesday,
Thursday). It has a pretty good arts scene and the local restaurants are pretty
good too.
As for dating, since the campus is so small, it's a little difficult to date
while in school. It
almost seems like the people who date fellow Dartmouth people, usually have met
them
in the summer or on while studying abroad, or even at an alumni event after
graduation.
Still, I think every Dartmouth man or woman deep down wants to marry another
Dartmouth man or woman.
