| a truly liberal arts A.B. |
Nestled on the plains of Hanover, the campus offers a unique small
college town atmosphere bolstered by world class facilities and
resources, all set in picturesque New Hampshire. State-of-the-art
laboratories, libraries, classrooms, computer and network facilities,
field houses, basketball and hockey arenas, museums, Hopkins Center for
the Arts, and more make up the most comprehensive network of resources
of any undergraduate institution. With easy access to the College's own
skiway and the College Grant wilderness, the rugged White Mountains, and
the Dartmouth Outing Clubs many facilities and programs, while still
within easy driving distance of the cultural and social offerings of
Boston, the Dartmouth experience provides the widest, most varied range
of opportunities imaginable. An outstanding network of campus
dormitories provide housing for over 90% of students, while more than
three dozen local chapters of national fraternities and sororities
maintain carefully college-monitored houses for residency and
recreation. The nationally acclaimed Dartmouth Dining association
maintains a state-of-the-art dining facility while various other on-
campus and off-campus dining alternatives offer a broad array of dining
choices. A true college-focused town in an affluent supporting
community, crime in virtually non-existant and safety of little concern,
although the College maintains a modern and excellently trained and
staffed campus police force. The College supports the most varied and
extensive intercollegiate athletic program in the nation, while offering
an equally impressive program of intermural athletics as well.
