I was recruited by the cross country and track and field team. As a result, I
spent some
time working with the coach to make sure I did what needed to get done (he
especially
said I needed at least a 1300 on SAT's -- and this was before the SAT's were
rescored). I
really focused on my essays and I believed I wrote some pretty good essays on
topics that
I felt were a little different and unique to the typical essay while still
making sure the
essay was relevant to my background. I also applied early, which is what helped
me get
in since Dartmouth his Early Decision -- once you apply early you have committed
to
going there if you get accepted.
