Admission & Application Survey |
| full-time undegraduate |
I remember the admissions process being a little different from most
schools. We had to have the usual round of teacher recommendations,
essays, etc. but the school also required a peer letter of
recommendation, which meant that one of your friends writes a
recommendation for you. Also, they had interviews that I think were
required, so I drove two hours south where they were being held in my
state. It was on the top floor of a downtown tower, very snazzy -
leather, mohogany, the whole deal. I was interviewed by a panel of
alumni, young and old, who were super chill and actually seemed to be
enjoying interviewing hordes of prospective students. I really felt
that I clicked with them, and it was then that I decided I'd rather go
to Dartmouth than my former top choice, Duke.
As for getting in, I can't stress enough the need to APPLY EARLY-
DECISION. Early decisioners have a MUCH better chance of getting in,
which is important when the school is as selective as Dartmouth.
