The quality of life at Cornell is excellent. How many schools can you
go to where you walk over a waterfall each day to get to class?
Ithaca may be quiet, as cities go, but with two large college campuses
there are plenty of students to hang out with and places to go. Cornell
is in the process of refurbishing the dorms, where the first set of new
dorms opened in Fall 2001. These new dorms have everything a college
student can dream of; including air-conditioning! The dining halls are
by far the best campus food you can get. Whatever type of food you want
you can find in on-campus dining from pizza, burgers, and deli to sushi
and stir-fry. Cornell even has its own dairy bar where students design
new flavors of ice cream each year. There are four gyms on campus plus
the Freedman center for Cornell athletes and Cornell requires each
student to take two gym classes during their four years. These course
can range from meditation to golf to rock-climbing to snow skiing or
water skiing to spring break adventure trips. Whatever you are looking
for, chances are Cornell has it right on campus. There are bowling
lanes, a movie theater, pool hall, two olympic swimming pools, tennis
courts, basketball courts, a plethora of mac and pc labs, and anything
else you are looking for. Ithaca is a safe place to live with low crime
and if you don't feel comfortable walking by yourself at night there are
blue light walkers that will walk you home and blue light buses that
will take you to your dorm from around campus.
