B.S. Communications Ithaca is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and I would love to live there again. It does get very cold in the winter which makes you walk rather quickly to class, but I liked it since it justified me staying inside to study! I felt safe walking around Collegetown by myself at night, and if you don't, you can call for an escort from the BlueLight phones and two men will walk you wherever you need to go. Housing oncampus was great and I loved having co-ed dorms. Some of my best friends were made freshman year on West Campus in the dorms. Some of the classrooms that were newer were very impressive - the older buildings were less impressive and I believe some are actually being renovated these days. Cornell does have a very high-stress environment, and it can get very dreary in the winter, but the ups-and- downs are all worthwhile sharing the experience with friends.
