There is definitely a lot of campus recruiting and help offered with career
placement, though in the terrible economy that I was faced with, I'm not sure any
of this helped very much (most students relied on connections or jobs local to
where they grew up). That said, the employers and colleagues I've worked with
since graduating have all been very impressed with the Cornell degree. Like any
other degree, the Cornell name is enough to get your resume noticed - though
you'll have to prove yourself with presentation during your interview, your
skills, and your ability to speak and write clearly and concisely. The Cornell
degree is not a be-all-end-all ticket to success, but it will certainly get your
foot in the door on the path to success, an important point that should not be
underestimated.
