I never wanted to get into popular classes which are mostly science classes. But
my science-minded friends never had too much of a problem. Professors or their
assistants are usually approachable. d of time. All the resources are there, but
it's you who has to be proactive in getting them. Which is a good thing, I think.
Cornell has a fair amount of prestige with employers in New York and the
tri-state area, and it helps if you belong to a club or organization in college
which has a strong alumni network. Those alums are really looking to help Cornell
students out. If you call them up and ask to talk to them about their
jobs/careers, 99 out of 100 will spend an hour on the phone with you. If you get
to know an alum, he or she is pretty likely to write a recommendation for you.
