Cornell had two options for admission - either early decision or normal
admissions. I knew I wanted to go to Cornell from the description in the
college guides I read and after visiting the beautiful campus, my
decision was final. I applied early decision in the hopes of increasing
my chances of getting accepted and it seemed to work. I figured with my
strengths and unique qualities, I had the best chance of getting in if I
was compared with a smaller pool of applicants. I did get accepted and
had a local interview with an alumni in my hometown, which went very
well. Cornell alumni are crazy about their school and are very anxious
to talk about it with prospective students. I had a very good discussion
with this interviewer and also formed a positive impression of the
school from talking w/ that alumnus.
