The Greek system was strong but getting less so as I left. However, it
was more of an emphasis for males, not so much for the females. Plus,
we could not rush until we were sophmores so everyone pretty much
already had social groups and strong friendships. So even though it was
strong, it was more of the root of the parties than absolutely vital to
having a social life. I think Colgate is definitely a place where
everyone finds their niche and all the groups overlap.
