Colgate is one of the safest schools you can attend. Students rarely
lock their doors and leave laptops lying around in the library
unattended. Due to the extremely rural, almost desolate location, all
the students are on campus on weekends and the school therefore has a
very summer-camp feel to it: working, playing, and sleeping with the
same group of people for four years. The athletic facilities are top-
notch for a school as small as 'gate- the gym was just flooded with new
weights and treadmills last year, and the student body is very active
in sports and intramurals. There are hundreds of public computers all
over campus so that it is not necessary to have your own computer-
although most students do- and everyone is connected to the LAN. Off-
campus housing is a treat for seniors only through a lottery process,
otherwise students are required to live on-campus or in a Greek or
Special Interest House for the first three years.
