| Bachelor of Arts |
I would not say the school directs you into your career choice. I felt more
like I just picked my choice out of a hat. Because the school is a liberal arts
college, I simply pursued the academics of most interest to me not necessarily
with a specific career direction in mind. That can be a negative. In retrospect
it all worked out and I needed the freedom to find my way to what I wanted. I do
not necessarily see how the school could have helped me in my choice. However,
they did not try to direct students either. You found what you found and pursued
what you wanted. The career services office is wonderful once you know what you
want. The alumni network is extensive and people are eager and willing to help
which is wonderful. Career services are definitely there for whatever you need.
As a senior you have to go to them anyway which is probably smart. By being
mandatory Colgate is really watching out for its students and making sure they
are doing alright and are on the right track.
