I had not really received any advice about getting in before I applied.
I had known someone that had gone to Colgate and I went ahead and sent
in an application. I was initially put on the waitlist. Colgate was
very kind to me when I was put on the list and did everything to make me
learn more about the school. They made me comfortable so I could easily contact
them. In the end, one day as I was on campus taking a tour, my family
and I stopped into the Admissions office. I told the secretary my name
and the admissions officer that handled my region said, "________!! How
are you? Why don't you come into my office and we shall chat." And I
did and I got in after waiting only a few weeks. It was very exciting
and I was impressed with how Colgate took an interest in me.
