After I was accepted, I went up to spend the weekend with a student. I
was asking someone for directions to the restroom when he started asking
who I was. Once I told him my name - he recited my high school and my
essay!! I'm sure it wasn't the best application they received that year
and I didn't come from anywhere unusual so I was very impressed!!!
The essays were very broad and not tricky. I think they really want to
see how creative the applicants can be and they give you the room to
show off if you want.
