This school has no hope in this poor economy. They expect recruiters to come to
them. While this worked 5 years ago in a strong economy, your chances of getting
a job through on campus sources now are slim.
The College of Business held a job fair in my last year, but those jobs were of
course primarily geared towards MBA types and internships within the MBA program.
If you go to the large, well equipped Career Services office, you'll see around
20 stations and only about 4 employees. They make a great task of small talk
amongst themselves for several hours a day. And once a month they actually post
a job listing of companies who were desperate enough to beg them to be listed,
which are mostly schools looking for teachers. They have a job fair, which is
mostly comprised of summer camps looking for students to work there.
So the education is solid, but you??d better have an outside source for job
finding a job. Many of the students I actually saw getting jobs were going to
work for their parents company, or seeking a higher position with a previous
employer.
