San Luis Obispo is a college town. It is pretty small and quaint.
College students sometimes conflict with the retired community, but for
the most part they keep separate lives. It is an extremely safe town,
despite past occurrences of crime. Housing used to be cramped, but with
the introduction of more on-campus housing and more in plan for the
future, the housing crunch has been alleviated. Prices are high, but
most are better than housing at UCLA or Cal.
