I enjoyed Boston very much and think it's an excellent place for
students. There are many opportunities to meet many people, and that's
a great thing.
BU doesn't offer much in the way of restaurants. There's the student
union with its fast food offerings, and the Pub in the Castle with its
sandwiches and beer. But the advantage of being in the city of Boston
is that the city offers so much in terms of restaurants and social
venues. There are plenty of places on Commonwealth Avenue that I
enjoyed, though not necessarily part of Boston University. Some include
Ankara's Cafe (in Kenmore) and Angora's Cafe (in the West Campus area)
for frozen yogurt, Brown Sugar Cafe (Thai food), Min Sook (Korean food),
Sushi Express (on Beacon St.). I also liked Mirage, a salon on Beacon
St., and Cafe Han River, a Korean cafe also on Beacon St.
The Greek system isn't that big at BU, which is a shame. It's so big,
and it would be a great way for people to make friends. But it gets
lost in everything else that BU has to offer, so it doesn't get the
exposure it would if this were a typical campus school.
