I had previously attended Cleary College in Ypsilanti, MI, and completed
a Certificate Program as a Legal Secretary. Then a few years later, I
attended Mott Community College and earned an Associates Degree in
Business. After being in the work force, having a family, and returning
to the work force, I had the desire to complete my Bachelor's Degree on a
part-time basis.
Baker College was just beginning a program for adult students with
previous college experience and credits, and it seemed to be the right
"fit" for me. The program involved attending classes on Wednesday
evenings for 4 hours for 5 terms, along with transferring in my credits
from the colleges I had previously attended.
The admission process involved a written application, a persoal
interview, and a written essay on site. No ACT or SAT scores were
required of us for admission. This program was limited to 2 sections of
approximately 25 students each, so the college needed to be fairly
selective when admitting students.
