The social life at Auburn is as much or as little as you want. If you
are a hermit type you wont see much social life and vice versa. It is
easy to meet people at Auburn if you get out and do it. Many people go
greek and if you do that you are gauranteed to know hundreds of people
right off the bat.
The bars in Auburn are a little lacking. The city imposes rules and
regulations on them that cause little competition of saturation. If
you are looking for a bar district like at UGA you wont find it at
Auburn. On the flipside you will never have a problem finding a place
to drink. Most people go for the drinking specials at local
restaurants and then hit the bars for socializing and dancing. I would
say that a good chunk of the social life is held at keg parties and
fraternity houses though rather than at the bars. This is especially
true during the fall. As the year rolls on though it switches over to
the bars.
One thing Auburn has that not many schools have is tailgating like no
other. Game days are not taken lightly at Auburn. The partying starts
when the sun comes up and ends when everyone passes out.
I wouldnt say there is one favorite bar at Auburn, it is more just what
bar is happening on X night. Highlands is kind of a greek hangout, so
is Bodega. Bourbon Street is for whoever, Tigris is a whoever plus
dancing, and the Blue Room is mainly a dance club. How packed they
will be usually depends on who has the best band. The Supper Club is
open the latest and is usually the last desitination before Waffle
House.
