If you plan to get a job anywhere in the south EVERYONE will know about Auburn.
One of your job hunting skills will be knowing the current happenings with the
football team. It provides good conversation topic in interviews and networking.
Auburn is willing to help you get a job or internship as much or as little as
you try. They arent going to find a job for you but if you enlist their help
they will bend over backwards to help you. There is a career center and the
college of business has a department to network with comapnies. The accounting
department is second to non in career placement. They have an entire network of
their own for placement.
Auburn students have a reputation as being hard workers that know that nothing
in life is going to be handed to them on a silver platter and employers know
that. You arent going to trick anyone into thinking that you graduated from
Harvard but you arent going to have anyone looking down on your degree by any
means. Im working on breaking into commercial real estate and I have found that
the most successful agents at both firms I am looking at are all Auburn grads.
