After graduating we were given the opportunity to use the institute's Job
Placement Dept. For some, getting jobs was easy because they found their niche.
It was a little harder for me because I really hadn't that niche yet. The job
placement personel found what looked like the most appropriate jobs and I would
call the employer up and set up an appointment for an interview. I got 3
interviews within about 2-3 months. The second interview went well but did not
fall through because of transportation issues. A week later the same employer
called back about a second position opening up. I had solved my transportation
problems by that time and hired shortly after that. Currently the Art Institute
mainly tells it's student how to make use of the internet to find jobs, making it
a less personal touch.
