Job Responsibilities
My main responsibility is payroll for 170 staff.each week I
spend 25 hrs reviewing all annual leaves, sick leaves and other
entitlements for staff. I organise their clockings and then
download it onto my system where I configure all their hours and pay them
according to there status and there hours worked. I create rosters for all
departments in the store and calculate the wages according to budgets.

Job Requirements
There are no academic requirements for this job, however the training required
to learn all payroll codes and union
regulations as well as learning the payroll system takes time and commitment.

Uppers
The best part of my job is having the responsiblity to be in control of people's
pay and communicating with senior staff on how to control there wages.

Downers
The worst part is that it is a monotonous position and sometimes
it gets pretty stale as there are no rotating staff.

Lifestyle
There is no travel. I start work at 6.30 in the morning and finish at 15.00. It
allows me to be home at a reasonable hour to pick up my son from school and still
have enough time to do things with him as I am a single mother.

Compensation
No compensation no bonuses I am on a set wage week in week out.
