Job Responsibilities
Medical transcription 25 hrs and 25 hrs on the following list: designing forms in a graphics program, insurance contracting, fee negotiation for re-imbursements, scheduling meeting and attending with insurance company provider relations dept, filling out re-appointment forms for all hospitals, surgical centers, filling and submitting all documentation for recredentialing or initial credentialing to all insurance companies, typing up ultrasound reports, correspondance by mail or phone, submitting W9 forms when requested to insurance companies, typing up general information forms from court documents for any open claims and keep loss/run histories for the physicians to submit to insurance companies, filling out malpractice insurance forms for renewal or for quotes to other companies, keep confidential files for all insurance companies contracted with, search internet for any court claims for insurance companies if we are considering applying as providers.
Job Requirements
Certified Medical Assist - very difficult program, easy to get into all classes, good professors, very heavy workload Business Law - Very heavy workload, good professor, easy to get class.
Uppers
Transciption can be done at home, low stress postion even with deadlines, most work done on a computer, decent benefits, work days with weekends off.
Downers
Pay could be better, insurance could be better.
Lifestyle
No travel involved except to and from the office, dress code is casual/dress,all days with weekends off, very diversified duties and never boring.
Compensation
No bonuses, 4 weeks vacation, holidays, sick days, base salary in a medical office is not always good, you have to research different offices.
