Job Responsibilities
Investigate the merits of each workers compensation claim, and either accept or
deny the claim. Calculate and pay benefits if applicable. Maintain accurate
claim reserves for each claim. Follow written and unwritten protocals to manage
and settle each claim. Close claim according to its merits, and according to
company closure ratios.

Job Requirements
Bachelors degree normally required of newly hired Claims Case
Managers. Additional in-house training, and industry-training is
expected to be completed by the employee.

Uppers
The job is mainly perfomed in the office, and relatively little travel is
required. With experience, additional settlement and payment authority along
with automomity is granted by the company.

Downers
Work is normally done in a small workspace, i.e., cubicles. No
privacy. Job is usually production oriented. Company requires
more and more caseload work from as few staff as possible, which
causes turnover.

Lifestyle
Work hours exceed 40 hrs per week, without fail, otherwise the work cannot be
done to the company's expectations.

Compensation
Starting salary for a new college graduate is approximately $25,000 - $29,000.
Salary for experienced examiner up to $45,000.
