Job Requirements
Up to one year experience preffered. We were told that we would have 68 weeks training but it was changed to 6 weeks. THey split up the 30 people hired and the others went to another department and trained for 15 weeks. WE were told that there was no ryme or reason as to how the people were pick. THey said that they had taken the top 15 on the list. TRaining did not go smooth. The person training was from out of state and did not even work in the department that she was training in. She was nice though and tried every hard to make things work. We tested at the end of training by having our calls monitored. Very fast pace.
Uppers
The job paid more than most customer service jobs starting out. They had cubicles where you can log into the computer and request vacation and know right away if you have it. They do not do vacation by seniority.
Downers
If you want a certain day off and are not at your desk looking at your lotuus note when an e-mail is sent stating the month of NOvember or December is now available. You can forget getting the Holidays of within 10 minutes. You were informed that your schedule may change when needed and that you would always get two weeks noticed. No one imagined that their schedule would change 3 times in one month. They lost at least 20- 25 people a month at least. My class was put downstairs then told that if you work past 9pm you had to shut everything down and pack up and move upstairs everyday for the remainder of your shift because they air would be cut off. Then we also found out that if you worked after 7pm, weekends or Holidays you had to take transportation calls where you set up transpotation for medicaid patients. We had not been trained on this and had to take a two hour quicky course which was no where near enough. No matter how much experience you have. Most start out entry level.
Lifestyle
There will always be a large need for customer service. Learned as much as you can. Stay informed. Take any classes that they offer to enhance your skills. If you don't want to work weekends , after hours or Holidays don't work for a 24 hour call center. Not as a customer service rep. How ever with some of them having high turn over rates there may be more room for advancement. Especially when the call center is new.
Compensation
$12.26 an hor. 401K ,Dental and medical available withen the next week after starting. Some people received bonuses around CHristmas time.
