have been acquired as they move up the system.

Uppers
College tuition reimbursement for permanent employees. The possibility to
transfer throughout the Civil Service System to positions external to USCIS when
they are available.
|
Downers
A quota system for each officer. No college reimbursement for
term employees or part time employees, or those with less than 36
months remaining on the job. Term employees are not extended, or
considered for permanent employment anymore.
|
Lifestyle
Hours are now strictly an eight hour day. No overtime or extended hours are
allowed any longer.
|
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience, and longevity within the
Civil Service System. I started in 2002 at approximately 32000,
and now my salary is 48,000. It can increase, but only as
positive ratings are submitted.
