Job Responsibilities
Responcible for all communications electronics equipment located
on the ship you are assigned. This includes RADAR, SONAR. crypto-
graphic equipment, computers and radio transmitters and receivers.

Job Requirements
Must be a high school graduate, post high school training
valuable. Entrance level is post basic technical training,
advanced training is available for those who qualify. The
electronics field is a very wide occupational specialty. The
basic military qualifying tests are very importmant in the
placement of people in this field. The career pasth is to the
MCPO (E-9) kevek with possibilities for advancement to Warrent
Officer or Limited Duty Officer (LDO). Salaries are commenserate
with your time in service and paygrade (rating). The electronics
field has opportunities for additional monies through
proficiencie pay levels.
One unique factor to this career pasth is early reaponcibilities
that include the responcibnility of electronic maintance of a
Naval ship before age 25.

This is a 24/7 type of job and you are subject to military style customs.

Compensation
Pay is adequate for an unmarried person. I suggest not marrying
until at lest an E-5. Good retirement compensation after 20
years of service.
