Job Responsibilities
Programming, Planning and Budgeting: Contribute to the development of the Africa Region??s strategic plans through the formulation of budget and resource allocations to the sector units. Assist Directors and Managers by acting as an interlocutor in discussions on budget, staffing issues, deliverables, key performance indicators and outcomes. Monitoring Coordinate the on-going and quarterly monitoring of unit budgets and Work Program Agreement (WPA. Provide feedback to on issues of performance, ensuring that key variances are flagged to appropriate staff and the sector units, and that corrective action is taken to remedy concerns as necessary. Analysis & Reporting Undertake various types of analysis on work programs, staffing flows, budget expenditures and forecasts, expenditure trends, cost effectiveness, etc. for regional management discussions and decisions; highlight issues and provide advice and solutions as required. Identify opportunities and suggests changes to improve overall budget reporting systems, including participation in the documentation of these specifications. Fiduciary Accountability Reviews effectiveness of internal control mechanisms and systems, and monitors compliance.
Job Requirements
A relevant Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Economics. A minimum of 3 years of experience in either Administration, Finance or Operations at the World Bank, or in an international private or public sector setting. Knowledge and understanding of business planning, work programming, budgeting and financial management. Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other financial and resource management policies, practices and guidelines. Experience with and understanding of Resource Management (RM) tools and methodologies. Extensive knowledge of Bank organization, systems and procedures. Strong analytical capabilities and proven skills to deal with RM issues independently and innovatively. Ability to act as an interlocutor between RM and operations units in handling and facilitating client and inter-unit business relationships. Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to prepare, present and discuss findings in written and oral form. Proven ability to build effective working relations with team members, colleagues, clients, and management.
Compensation
Gross Salary: US $84,000.
