Job Responsibilities
Major job responsibilities are product development and acquiring
new business. As an employee of a dynamic state agency, I have
many opportunities to develop new products as long as there is a
positive return on investment.
I spend 30% of my time developing new products, 40% of my time
delivering products on existing contracts, 20% of my time
supervising our team of researchers and 10% of my time
identifying new opportunities for future business.

Job Requirements
There is a definate career path, as a project manager, I know
the progression from my current position to the CEO of our
organization. Project manager>Program Coordinator>Program
Manager>Program Director>Division Director>Executive
Committee>CEO

Uppers
The best part of my job is working with new technologies and having the
opportunity to pursue new business ventures for the state agency.

Downers
Working in the government, there is tremendous burocracy and
procedures. Every form has a number and everything that needs
to be done has a form.
|
Lifestyle
I enjoy the lifestyle of working for the government, with the days off and
limited work schedule. This gives me a greater opportunity to spend time with my
family.
|
Compensation
Given the benefits of the great lifestyle, the cost is a reduced
compensation package. The benefits package is very good,
however cash compensation leaves something to be desired.

Advice to Jobseekers
There will always be government jobs, however, those with the
dynamic and entrepenurial athmosphere of this one are hard to
find. If you're willing to trade lifestyle for cash
compensation, the government might be for you.
