Job Responsibilities
Source candidates for open positions 50%. Interview selected 50%, Hire selected 50%. I know it totals over 100%, but each day is over 100%.
Uppers
Communicating with a diverse population group. Learning about individual customs and cultures.
Downers
Don't upward growth. You are what you are hired for and if you step out of the bounds... see you at the Dept of Labor.
Lifestyle
Hours are fine, no travel, Christmas Party, though no other evens, dress is fine, diversity is lacking, the CEO doesn't hire people who have names that remind him of people that have burned him in the past. The only reason why I would recommend this position is for budding HR people to get their foot through a door. And please tell all budding HR individuals that when interviewing for HR jobs, don't ever say "I want to work in HR because I love to work with people". HR doesn't work with people, it works with an invisible profit line. I have caused more pain to people lives then growth. The line manager rules and HR as to follow along. If they want someone fired, sorry to say, HR has the way, I have had the way, to build a case and get the person out.
Compensation
30000 base plus commission, 5% of the hours billed. Benefits are fine. BC/BS paid at 85%.
Advice to Jobseekers
Research-----Research-------Research. HR is not planning the company picnic, it's not delivering good news, it's kissing the backside of the lines of business that make money on paper. And "On paper" is the operative phrase.....HR rarely shows a profit margin, HR is overhead. And it doesn't make sense. The average cost to hire someone with a 30000 year salary is 90,000. Now if the person does not work out, multiply that by 3 and pray you are not fired for a bad hire, or the handling of a bad employee realtions issue.
