Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include gather requirements from in-house
clients/users and then writing system specs based on those
requirements. After specs have been approved coding and unit
testing takes place. Then code is move up environments for
various testing and hopefully on time for production.

Job Requirements
The education requirements are usually a degree with
business/computers mix. My Major was computer science however
working in aninsurance business a degree of computers and
business mix would have better suited me.

Uppers
The money as consultant in the computer industry is pretty good and time is
always flying by - never been bored - tired but never bored.

Downers
As a consultant many jobs have gone over sea or have been
replaced here with people from other countries working much
cheaper. Jobs have gotten scarce - been out of work twice in the
last 3 years.

Lifestyle
Lifestyle - none. Work in a cubicle all day hardly ever look up only breaks from
the computer besides lunch is meetings. Sounds dismal but once again brain very
busy not bored. Everday I can't believe its time to go home!

Compensation
Being a consultant I'm paid hourly I usually make between 48 and
52 an hour.

Advice to Jobseekers
Computer occupation is pretty dismal with all the jobs leaving
the country. Business analyst to write specs are still needed
but actual coding is very easy to send out - no language barries.
