Job Responsibilities
Hiring and training staff to be paid at no more than minimun wage hours but expects all staff to work alone and hold keys. Expects all staff to work 8.5 to 12 hours a day standing in dress shoes on cement floors without proper carpeting and cushioning to perform manual tasks such as ironing and steaming and using professional puffers on childrens clothing, while you handle all customer service to include cash handling and banking. You will spend most days without proper food or bathroom breaks, as you can not leave the sales floor alone because you are scheduled to be alone at all times.
Job Requirements
There is no education required, however you as manager are expected to train all employees to a mysterious level of proper customer service that the company does not provide for you. There is no management support from corporate for store managers at all. There are no training books available, so you can not even teach yourself, an in this manner the company MAY ALWAYS ACUSE YOU of being wrong, lacking what it takes to be promoted or given raises and they can always say you have a negative anti company attitude.
Uppers
The kinds of customers that I created became more than customers, they are more like friends. Retail can be great when you make someones day for their wedding, or special occasion.
Downers
Having to deal with the lack of respect from corporate management who have never done what you do for a living, and who wouldnt have jobs if you didnt do yours.
Lifestyle
Retail can be demanding at the worst times, ie holidays. There are not alot of times that you travel at a store manager level. You can be at a store late for recovery depending on the company.
Advice to Jobseekers
Do not take this line unless you like all people in general.
