Job Responsibilities
I am actively employed five day per week from 7:30am until 4:30pm excluding 1 1/2 hours spent for lunch and a morning and afternoon break. My specific duty upon is to open up the Reception area and prepare my desk for the days activity which includes greeting any customers or clients that have been invited or chose under their own power to visit our offices. I answer the phone for the company and this is a four line phone for incoming calls that provide calls via transferring to about 150 co-workers. I also assist with work for additional departments such as the Recordation Department where home mortgage documents are prepared for county recording. I help the Post Assignment department by signing and notarizing the aforesaid documents and sometimes I assist in the Document Retrieval Department where title companies are contacted to request lost documentation such title policies. I also answer customer calls regarding documentation that they may have received by mail from our offices. My main objective is to maintain good customer relationship and to answer questions that customers may have regarding our involvement in mortgage document preparation. I try to treat each customer as if it's the FIRST customer of the day, i try to avoid "burn-out" and steer clear of assumptions where questions from customers may seem out of place. I am loyal to my job and I strive to render good work habits with minimal supervision. I spend the entire day answering incoming phone calls and working on other projects as before mentioned or opening undeliverable mail from the Post Office where I return this type mail back to our Clients or re- mail to customers at current addresses provided by the United Postal Service.
Job Requirements
Hiring Procedure does in all probability require a high-school diploma at the least and a willingness to learn and gain knowledge with keen motivational skills. Classes of all types regarding jobs and psychosomatic propensity in the work field are offered within the company at no cost to employees. Help is available and offered to individuals who are eager and have the desire to excel and escalate to his or her full potential. Grading is kept in the Human Resources files.
Uppers
I love the part where I can help and answer customer questions where they may have been frustrated or irritated by misunderstanding. I like being a part of the resolution and not the problem. Being part of a team that offer customer service and quality care is very pleasing. I love camaraderie where all employees work together and create good relations to both customer and client.
Downers
Where a lack of knowledge and non-caring attitudes interfere with work.
Lifestyle
Casual dress is the dress code at our company and it is a very relaxed atmosphere where most associates are comfortable and working in contentment. On certain occasions we will have Clients come into our office from other cities across America and then we dress a bit more business to make suitable impressions to our visitors. This tactic is exercised as like you dress for a holiday party, we are not trying to deceive anyone, we just like to look our best when company comes calling... One note, just because businesses allow employees to dress in the casual mode, one should remain steady with good hygiene where hair and nails are clean and clothing should always look fresh and clean.
Compensation
My company pays relatively fair and the benefits are great where healthcare, dental, vision and disability is offered. The company pays partial benefits. 401k, Credit Union and bonuses are also offered to emoployees. Overtime is paid in excess of 40 hours per work week.
Advice to Jobseekers
Be positive and have a willingness to work, be punctual and show interest in you job and what the company is doing to achieve success. Do not condemn the company amongst your peers and co- workers. Stand up for your company as being a decent and high- quality place to work...after all, you have chosen to work for the company and shouldn't your choice be a wise one? Be a leader and not a follower but do humble yourself in compassion to be able to take directives from superiors. Do not criticize co- workers because you are just getting there so you don't have a clue who has a relationship with who... It is best to remain neutral and get along with all the people that you have to work with. There are jobs out there but it takes a person with certain character to embark upon the job market and land a worthwhile job and that only requires willingness and positive dedication.
