Job Responsibilities
My responsibilities on a daily basis WERE overseeing the day to day operations of the Agency. I was responsible for "first contact" with all customers both in person and via the phone. I was responsible for selling and servicing basic accounts.
Job Requirements
State Farm provided classes in the products they sold. State Farm required all office staff to become licensed Insurance Agents and then provided the classes to satisfy the continuing education requirements of the state you were employed in.
Uppers
In the beginning, the Agent I worked for was very generous with gifts of money.
Downers
Dealing with people who are dissatisfied with the product or performance of State Farm Insurance.
Lifestyle
Work hours would vari. I was hired as part time but as the Agency grew so did my hours. The dress code was business casual. There were a few social events mostly during business hours.
Compensation
Base salary was $14 hour. Bonus amounts varied with production.
Advice to Jobseekers
Do not become a support staff member for a State Farm Agent. You are required to have almost all the licenses as the Agent, you put in so many more hours than the Agent and your compensation is so much less.
