Job Requirements
My career actually began in the hospitality industry with a
degree in hotel & restaurant mgnt from the University of Denver.
I was not that happy with the level of instruction there as I had
come from a very strong prep school and found the university's
program to be not as robust as my prep school education. There
was great difficulty in getting into the classes you were
supposed to take in the years you were supposed to take them.
When I couldn't get into the required classes I would take
history courses just to maintain the proper amount of credits. I
had enough credits for a minor in history, but the school did not
allow a business major to have an arts minor.

Uppers
Challenging and diverse activities.
|
Downers
That there is little requirement for my job anymore as companies
have sent most of their IT processing and projects out of the
country.
|
Lifestyle
Very faced paced work environment, managble hours, business casual.
|
Compensation
Salaries 'were' very good for experienced people. Salaries are
now a good 20-30% lower thanks to an influx of unemployed project
managers..a buyers market.

Advice to Jobseekers
Don't go into IT, there is no longer a future for it in this
country. Unless you want to move to India for a job, and they
won't let you immigrate anyway, study something else. I hear
nurses are in high demand.
