Job Responsibilities
I was managing a case load of approximately 75 elders who were
homebound in the South Shore of Boston. I would coordinate in-home
care services to keep them as independent as possible so they did
not have to move to long term care (like a nursing home).

Job Requirements
I had a lot of experience with the elderly population during my
undergraduate career, that really helped me get the job. Alot of
the other persons that were hired did not have that type of
experience, but did have a human service background.

Uppers
The people were great and the hours were flexable. Working with the clients is
very rewarding.

Downers
The pay, the fact that people in this field are not really
techinically advanced. I found myself bored most days.

Lifestyle
The hours were flexable and the people are very nice and caring. Overall I
enjoyed the work environment there was just not enough work for me to do.

Compensation
The pay is not that great, but it is human services! I had to pay
a huge amount of my paycheck to my health care.

Advice to Jobseekers
Be patient and understand that the personal rewards outweigh what
you will be paid.
