Job Responsibilities
I am an MBA student at this time, but previously, I was a social worker for people with disabilities. After I was promoted, it was my responsibility to run a Medicaid Waiver program for children with disabilities. I spent about 50% of my time meeting with clients and the rest of the time filling out government paperwork, setting up educational and therapy programs for my clients.
Job Requirements
Qualifications depend on which state you work in. Some states require an MSW while others do not.
Uppers
The best part of my job was making a difference in people's lives. If you do not feel that you are making any difference, change jobs!
Downers
There were just some people that I couldn't help.
Lifestyle
Get used to a small paycheck. You will need supplements from somewhere else.
Compensation
Low. I made about $30,000 a year including bonuses.
Advice to Jobseekers
