Job Responsibilities
Oversee homes for people with intellectual disabilities (4
homes). Coach, & manage staff, budgets, do cross-service audits,
internal audits of clients' finances, investigate both client &
staff incidents. Ensure that all documents are up to date for
the purposes of external audits e.g. Wellness Plans, Lifestyle
Plans, Behaviour Support Plans etc. Also need to liase with
other external agencies regarding support for the people living
in the houses. There is a degree of autonomy, so time management
is important.There is also the responsibility of collating
monthly reports, for the purposes of monthly Board meetings.

Job Requirements
Provided a person has the right qualification (minimum a
Bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences or Social Work,) he or
she is elible for acceptance is there is a suitable vacancy. The
organisation also supports staff doing further studies e.g. a
Masters

Like any other job, the worst part of the job is having to deal
with a lot of paper work, but this involves time management. If
one takes a positive mentality, it is no difficulty.

Lifestyle
Dress code is 'smart casual'. Work hours are 0830 to 1700hrs i.e. an 8 hr day
with half an hr for lunch. You do daily travel out into the suburbs to visit the
houses you oversee,& there are also times when there is out of town travel for
conferences etc. There may be times when you are involved in Multi Disciplinary
meetings.

Compensation
The commencing salary is $40,000. When you are required to be on
call, you are paid an on call allowance of $5 per hour. Other
allowances are also payable upon achieving further
qualifications. Everyone is employed under the 'Collective
Contract' Others who do not want this option sign a separate
indidivudal contract with the employer.
