Realy not much academics involved, basic food handling curse and some bussines
apply. And a lot of customer service experience.

I'm my own boss, make my own hours and rates, entirely in charge of everything
to do with the service.

Well, that would be all the responsability involved in certain
events with a big budget. And very high maintenance customers.

Lifestyle
I work about 30 hrs. a week, it's still a small bussines. I have a lot of spare
time, thats why I do this as well. Dress code is very important when coming in
contact with clients. Remember, you are advertising your bussines.

Compensation
Well, on an average of about 2 parties a week with a small budget of about 2k to
4k. Your basic salary is 30% of what the party runs. So in this case would be
$600 to $1200. Of course you will get the ocational customer that tips very well
as much as 50% of the cost of the event.

Advice to Jobseekers
If you are a people person and enjoy taking on responsibilities of this sort,
with some knowledge of customer service and food and beverage handling, as well
as themes for parties, you most definitly have to be a people pleaser and have a
lot of patience and perseverance. I strongly believe that this occupation has a
great outlook for the future.
