Job Responsibilities
Risk Management and Patient Safety Experience includes
developing and implementing policies, protocols and procedures
and outcomes for the Risk Management and Education Programs in
accord with JCAHO and other appropriate regulatory agency
standards for the Hospital as well as the affiliated Managed
Care Organization. Implementation and continuous monitoring of
the JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals. Partners with other
departments such as Quality and Compliance Evaluation Reporting,
Nursing, Medical Affairs, Care Coordination and Environment of
Care in identifying and response to risk threats. Coordinates
criteria development and study design for Risk Management
activities. Designs standardized data gathering, tracking,
display and storage systems for the Risk Management program.
Assist in monitoring compliance and act as a liaison with
external agencies regarding information on Risk Management
activities. Maintain working knowledge of current legislation,
regulations and legal updates (federal, state, local) regarding
Risk Management. Review, analyze and evaluate all
Sentinel/Critical events, Near Misses, complaints, grievances
and unusual occurrences. Act as team leader for all Root Cause
Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) teams.
Performs reports including findings from analyses, response
actions and trend analysis, and policies to appropriate
organizational staff and committees for action.

Job Requirements
Registered nurse with a BA in Psychology from The University of
the District of Columbia and a Juris Doctorate from Howard
University Law School.

$70-100k/per yr depending on level of experience. Stock
