Job Responsibilities Before my job went to India, spent most of the day working on news stories and features. Job Requirements Don't be older than 30 -- otherwise, you're dead meat because you have to be paid well. Uppers Was a good place to work. heaven compared to Bloomberg. Also having the union there meant workers were treated with dignity. Nice buiilding, too. Downers Having my job sent to India. Also, there were many limits on story length. Lifestyle Have to be interested in news and be curious. Compensation OK. Not the best but OK. Of course, the employees in India are paid a lot less. Advice to Jobseekers Be really young so you don't have to be paid much. If you are past 30, that's probably not good because you can be replaced by an Indian (no offense, but offshoring sucks when it's your job).
