Job Responsibilities
My responsibilities cover a varity of areas such as:
Compensation: Managing bonus or remuneration packages for senior
employees, tracking development progress along with evaluating
job roles for benchmarking purposes.
Programme development: Developing programmes designed at
enhancing the value add that the Regional office provides the
country operations and also to enhance the level of value add
that the country level HR Managers provide to their relevant
country managers. These programmes are also designed to ensure a
standard level of operational effectiveness through process and
procedures for all countries.
Hr Support: responsibility for operational (day to day) HR
support for regional employees (EMEA responsibilities/focus)
based in the UK - these range form Sales, Marketing, IT,
Logistics, Finance and so on. The day to day operational support
can also vary from recruitment to disciplinary management to
redundancy - so form this aspect I carry out the same operational
role as a country level HR manager but the client group is
dissapated across the EMEA region (19 countries across Europe,
middel east and Africa - including South Africa)

Advice to new comers:
Don't do it!!!! - joking aside its an interesting career choice
but you need to be committed to developing organisations and
people. HR is a long term committment for many organisations so
why shoudl it not be for individuals - if you get on with people
and can see between the lines - can see the wood for the trees
then this may be for you.
Job outlook - HR like IT has grown very fast so the trend woudl
be for the number of roles ot reduce - but as with everything -
as businesses grown so do their workforce and as such so will HR
