Job Responsibilities
Ad Hoc Analysis-using datamining tools such as Access, Powerplay, & Impromptu to extract and analyze data from internal databases- (3-4 hours a day) Tacking Volume and Pricing Trends-Using the above mentioned tools to create standard reporting that analyze volume for our products and identify pricing trends (2-3 Hours a day) Reimbursement Analysis-Analyze reimbursement levels, denials, and payer policies to ensure a favorable reimbursement environment for Quest Diagnostics services. Ensure the Company has a resource that can consistently answer the question: will we be reimbursed for services we provide to patients covered by 3rd party payers and at what rate?-(4-5 hours a day, not an everyday task) Potentital Opportunities-After conducting the reimbursement analysis I have to look for Potential opportunities to raise prices and directly affect the bottom line-(3-4 hours a day, not everyday) Miscellaneous Projects-Interfacing with Marketing, Sales, Managed Care and upper Management and helping with different projects. Such as Value Based Pricing Projects where we segment our Accounts and Products according to their Value to the company and then Price them accordingly with discounted rates. (3-4 hours a day, not everyday) Attending (Cross-Functional)Meetings via conference calls and Net Meeting, as well as face-to-face Meetings. (2-3 hours a day)

-Interfacing with different departments and learning what each of them does. -Working on Cross-Functional teams in order to complete different projects. -Being able to take advantage of all the training that is offered at the company. Such as: Six Sigman Green Belt and Black Belt training, Software(Impromtu,Access, Excel, etc) Training, Management and Project Leadership Training, etc.

-A lot of analysis is involved, hours on end staring at a computer screen can become somewhat cumbersome and tiedious.
Lifestyle
Work hours-9am-5pm (rarely an hour or two of overtime)Mon-Fri (No weekends. Occasional Business Travel is required-5-10% of the time Dress Code-Business Casual and Jeans on Fridays Management Style-Very Handsoff, You are basically left on your own with your responsibilities.
