Job Responsibilities
Managing entire full cycle recruiting function for various groups within the company including conducting requisition reviews with hiring managers on needs analysis, developing sourcing strategies; sourcing of resumes, reviewing; screening and routing to hiring managers; integral part of the decision making process; check references, run background checks, proposed appropriate salary recommendations for executive level hires and offer generation. Developing Job Descriptions. Posting positions on internal, external websites and job boards. Facilitating New Hire Orientations. Implementing Applicant Tracking System such RESTRAC; XPTEN. Implementing New Hire Headcount System (HeadTrax). Extensive Networking with various organizations like WITI, NSBE; Latino Professional Network African American Recruiters Organizations. Managing and maintaining all vendor/contingency agencies.
Job Requirements
College degree in any related discipline, Telephone skills - must be able to feel comfortable using the telephone to screen and interview candidates and be able to cold call as well. Most of recruiting skills are learnt on the job, extensive exposure to the internet and utilizing internet tools to source, review and screen qualified candidates for presentation. Communication both verbal and written are more desirable. Ability to understand technology terminologies and basic understanding of some concepts and components of the job description inorder to be able to articulate effectively to the qualified candidate. Extensive use of the Internet as a vehicle for sourcing, job postings, researches. Taking AIRS courses can be very helpful in this area. Interpersonal skills are required for effective networking. Ability to understand and grasp Microsoft Office Suite - learning Words, Excel , Powerpoint, Outlook. Ability to utilize effectively any Recruiting System for tracking and managing applicants
Uppers
1. Having the overall responsiblity of a full cycle recruiting , from sourcing, screening , interviewing, presenting candidates for final interviews to closing the candidate by offering and negotiating competitive compensation. A recruiter will find a full cycle recruiting rewarding than having to depend on others to do their part of the responsiblities if working in an environment where 2-3 Recruiters are assigned one or more components of the responsibilities.
Downers
Spending hours on the internet trying to find the right candidate, it could be very tedious which can lead to teary eyes and lower back pains. Its a must to constantly take 5-15 minutes stretches every 1-2 hours.
Lifestyle
Expect to put in more than 40 hours a week, and expect to travel depending on the level of recruiting that you, example if you are an Executive Recruiter or a Staffing Consultant, you will need to travel to locations of your company to participate in the final interview process of candidates and this is assuming you work in a large organization, this could be manageable in a smaller organization. You must be able to always dress in corporate attire - suits and look very professional.
Compensation
Entry level salary for this job is 45K a year and this can lead to your making 95,000 a year in five years based on your meeting certain individual, department and organizational goals.
