Job Responsibilities
Merchendisers such as myself are responsible for putting out
Pepsi products on shelves, in coolers, building and maintaining
displays, backroom management(organization). We are responsible
for writing down accurate milage from store to store, calling in
our hours daily and attending all schedualed meetings. We are
responsible for making sure customer service is our top priority
and we take pride in our work as our compeditors do not. We are
responsible for communication with our sales reps, bulk drivers,
and upper management through out our days on Nextels when
something is not how it should be. We have the most laborous job
at Pepsi. Constant lifting is a must and must be able to lift 50
lbs or more. We have to pull out huge pallets of water, Cubes
and 12 packs. So if you want an active job, this is the job for
you.

Job Requirements
Well to get anywhere in mostly any company, you have to have
collage experience tomove ahead. And personally that is where
the company is going. But for the merchendising position, there
is no college or school required. You have to have a clean
criminal background, free from drugs and alcohol in your blood
and have a pretty good driving record. With just no more than 1
moving violation in the past year to be hired as a merchendiser.
I don't quite think that any previous DUI'S or any violations
over a year are considered in the hiring process. Felonies on
the other hand are considered only on how long ago they were
obtained and of corse if you fail the drug test, you will NOT be
considered then or in the future. you must be able to lift at
least 50 lbs the right way in front of a physician of the Pepsi
Bottling Groups choice. And believe me it is harder than you
think.

Uppers
The job starts out at around $12.50 per hour for a part time mercendiser. But
if you proove yourself to be a wonderful part-timer, you get into a full time
position. With paid vacations, 6 paid sick days in a rolling 12 month period, 3
paid floater days a year, paid holidays and health, dental, and vision benifits.

Downers
Management is the worst it has been in a long time. Probably
ever. Job security is not really offered. They like to tell you
it is, but if they don't like you for any reason. Your job
becomes so much harder to deal with.

Lifestyle
Most merchendisers start work between 5 am and 6 am and are suppose to get off
of work at 1pm to 2 pm. But there are alot of days where you will be required to
work over time.

Compensation
Base salary for part timers are approximately $12.50.
Base salary for full time is $16.53.
